welcome to elarion, a fantasy gpsl that brings together characters inspired by your favorite disney films and fairy tales! we want this to be a fun, welcoming, and writing heavy environment to let your imagination run wild, and we hope that you will all help us achieve that.

we'll be adhering to the usual golden rules of rp here: any crossing of ic/ooc lines or abuse towards other members will be dealt with swiftly and result in removal/banning from the gpsl, no godmodding, use trigger warnings on any posts that could contain sensitive material for other members, and we do not condone using any outside apps.

character inspiration
we are currently allowing characters from the following disney films:

snow white, pinocchio, cinderella, alice in wonderland, peter pan, sleeping beauty, the sword in the stone, the jungle book, robin hood, the black cauldron, the little mermaid, beauty and the beast, aladdin, the hunchback of notre dame, mulan, tarzan, the princess and the frog, tangled, brave, frozen, raya and the last dragon, tinker bell franchise

and the following fairy tales:

hansel and gretel, rumplestiltskin, little red riding hood, jack and the beanstalk

this may be expanded in the future if needed.

please note that these characters should be used as inspiration, you should not be making carbon copies. get creative! just because your character inspiration is lawful good in its original iteration doesn't mean they can't be morally gray! this also means you are not beholden to original plot points or connections; if you bring in someone inspired by the beast, you are not required to have them be involved with someone inspired by belle. the world is your oyster, and these character inspirations should just be a jumping off point!

at this time, we are not allowing anyone to use the the evil queen, merlin, or maleficent as character inspiration, as we will be using them as npcs. everything else is fair game! additionally, you cannot bring any sort of royalty or kingdom rulers. nobility is fine!

applying
applying is simple! all we require is:

• an ooc (but nothing with pop culture/modern references, please) or ic username, with no extra letters, numbers, or underscores
• a backdated friends only, and a backdated ooc contact post (we recommend setting comments to friends only, but this is not required!)
• in that ooc post should be a bio that includes the character's full name, title (if any), age, occupation, a brief history or summary, and species & magic if applicable. you can add onto this as you write the character, but we need to have at least some idea of your character from the get go!

if your application was deleted, you have not been accepted. the mods are not required to answer questions as to why an application was rejected.

we do not allow overrides or challenges on pbs/characters.

the character cap is currently two, as we anticipate this will be a relatively small gpsl. you must disclose to the mods who your other character is while applying for a second character, and we reserve the right to reject a second character if you are not active with your first.

activity
while we plan to be laid back - everyone has lives outside of rp! - we will require at least one (1) activity post per month (a narrative, a mixed media post, something that requires more effort than a 5 picture moodboard), as well as interaction on the fp. if you post your update but show no interaction outside of that post, you will be removed with the next set of adds. nowhere is going to thrive if people are not interacting with one another!

pbs
while we are a fantasy gpsl, we do not expect you to pick a pb who has content in that specific setting. use whoever feels right!

while we will allow some wiggle room with characters who age slower than others, we do ask you try to adhere to the 5-10 year age rule; please, no bringing in a pb that is 22 years old for a character that's supposed to be 52. feel free to drop a comment if you're unsure about this!

as this is a fantasy setting, you are not beholden to keeping a character that is white in their particular media as white. and as characters are drawing inspiration from their particular source and not carbon copies, we will allow gender bending for the time being, but this may change in the future.

the mods hope to host community wide plots every other month or so, but we also welcome member run mini plots! feel free to run ideas by us if you have thoughts about anything you would like to see but not necessarily run yourself, as well; we hope to make this a truly collaborative environment for everyone involved.
